Level Cap Increased?
Listen.
Maybe we should identify the thought that Lvl 20 is the max lvl as a thing of the past.
I mean why don't we do it that maybe Lvl 45 is max. Then there will be more flexibilty and surely GW would become more popular.
Who is with me?

I like the level cap as it is, there's no pressure to become any higher than this, the rest is down to skill and skills. Wait for Guild Wars 2.

problem would lie in the monsters you face which at their highest in HM are level 32. Increasing those while increasing your level caps seems a bit pointless. and not increasing those makes GW a joke if it isnt already

There's a level cap to avoid stuff like "MY LV75 CHAR IS BETTR THAN UR LV40!!!1!!" stuff you can see in games without a level cap. From day 1, this was about player skill and not "I can kill you in one hit 'cause I'm 35 levels higher than you are".

Increasing the level cap makes the game even more grindhappy than it already is. Plus, a level cap makes this a skill game. It allows skill to be the deciding factor in a battle instead of amount of time played. I would be pissed if I'm a better player than somebody, but because he played for 1000 more hours than me he gets to win in a fight.
/notsigned - but it's already been said that the cap will be raised in GW2.

Increasing the level cap would break the game.
Firstly they would have to increase the levels and attributes of all Monsters and NPCs. Then theres the fact they would have to change the attribute system increasing the amount you can gain and f*cking up balance.
Not to mention Heroes would need leveling up aswell as Pets. Quest rewards would have to be completely redone.
Its pretty obvious you didnt think any of that through when making this suggestion.

No thank you. The low level cap is one of the best things about GW.

A level cap is what keeps people coming back to GW. You only have to spend maybe a couple of days getting your character to the max level, getting max armor and getting max weapons. Once this is done you are on the same plane as everyone else, your all equal. After this point it comes down to skills. Who has the right skills for the job, once again this can be gotten in a matter of hours. Once you have max armor, max level, max weapons, and all skills needed. It comes down to the player. In other games you spend 1000's of hours to get to max level and best weapons, then you just murder everything in the game because you can hit 5000 damage. Its just a matter of what you want
Time Played vs. Skill of player.

If the max level was increased to 45 then we would just have to increase the level of enemies to 70. In the end everyone will have 10x as much health, deal 10x as much damage and heal 10x as well. Everything would be exactly the same as it is now except you would have to spend an extra 50 hours of time to grind it out.

If you want a higher lv cap then play other games or wait for GW2. Why is there even a poll for this?

As others have said: having more than one char would be a pain, enough grind as is, etc. One reason I like GW better than other games with a high lvl cap.

If i wanted higher level, I'd go to Ragnarok Online, where I can get 99/50, then ascend to go to 99/70 again. And it's much more fun then here.
